The Twilight War
Published in Hardcover by E P Dutton (May, 1991)
Author: Michael Hamilton Morgan
Average review score:

Excellent, intelligent, thought-provoking literature
This book is among the best thrillers I've read (and I've been gobbling up this genre for over 25 years - as much of a piece of literature - extremely well-written. Intelligent characters, a serialized "book-within-a-book" that riveted my interest, very full and rich.

Warning: not an "upbeat" book, deals with various content matter that is "dark" but quite well-handled

A Marvel
This delightful book of short stories is one of my favourite books. James Hamilton Paterson writes with sensitivity and style, and handles a marvellous range of settings and situations. 'Carney Palafox' is the pick of the bunch, but there is not a weak link among them. Simply wonderful.

Weapons of War (War on Terrorism)
Published in School & Library Binding by Abdo & Daughters (June, 2002)
Author: John Hamilton
Average review score:

An Introduction to the U.S. Military
The "Weapons of War" volume of the "War on Terrorism" series is really a look at the conventional military forces the United States is able to put into the field in a more traditional type of war. Indeed, this volume is related specifically to the war in Afghanistan. So while John Hamilton introduces young readers to the military side of the war on terrorism there are certainly other aspects, representing the intelligence community and the various domestic police forces, that are not presented.

Early in the book there is a map of eastern hemisphere depicting the war in Afghanistan and showing how the air attack consists of B-2 Spirit stealth bombers from the United States, F-14 Tomcats and F-18 Hornets from the U.S.S. Theodore Roosevelt in the Mediterrean and the U.S.S. Carl Vinson and U.S.S. Enterprise in the Arabian Seas, as well as B-1 Lancer and B-52 Stratofortress bombers from Diego Garcia Air Base. The chapters on Fighters and Close Air Support as well as Long-Range Bombers both provide more details on these various types of military aircraft. Other chapters are devoted to Helicopters, Suppor5t Aircraft, Bombs and Missiles, Ships, and Ground Forces.

Hamilton provides a solid introduction to the array of ships, planes, tanks and such that the United States military can put into the field. For each Hamilton provides specific information about the crew, ordinance, and capabilities (including limitations). Both the information and the illustrations are specific to the war in Afghanistan with regards to use, camouflaging, and so forth, and the book is quite readable, especially given the onslaught of technical military information. It seems certain that most of the war on Terrorism will not be waged by traditional military forces, but this volume certain provides the details on what was used in Afghanistan.

What a Woman
I liked the book, What a Woman, because it had specific information about taking control of your financial matters. The information was well presented in an easy to read and understandable form. Much of the book's information was thought provoking and led the reader into searching for personal answers for her own financial and emotional situation. Th chapters are well connected and lead the reader into a clear picture of how things could be in making a fresh start after a major life change. I would highly recommend this book. It could be helpful to men as well as women and it would be an excellent text book for small group discussions.

Word Candy: 101 Bite-Size Novels
Published in Paperback by Writers Club Press (April, 2002)
Author: Marilyn J. Hamilton
Average review score:

Tasty and Fun!
Take a pinch of pun, add a dash of double entendre, and mix it with a cup of The Far Side-like twisted perception and you've got Marilyn Hamilton's tasty literary confection, "Word Candy." Like having a box of candy all to yourself you won't be able to eat, err ... read just one. You'll find yourself laughing and groaning at the same time like a good pun should. Just try not to read them aloud to your friends. I tried to write a clever Word Candy myself with a broken pencil but it was pointless.
